PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Every day is a gift every moment we live is a blessing of almighty, it is our pursuit how we take the moment whether in a happy node or in a sad node. It is in our mind to decide.

Here is a heart touching the short story of an old man………..

A man of 92 years short very well presented, who takes great care in his appearance is moving into an old people’s home today.

His wife of 70 years has recently died, and he was obliged to leave his home.

After waiting several hours in the lobby of retirement home, he gently smiles as he was told that his room is ready.

As he slowly walks to the elevator, using his cane, I described his small room to him, including the sheet hung at the window which serves as a curtain.

The old man said, “ I like the room very much,”.  The old man was so enthusiastic like a 6-year-old boy who had just received a new pet.

I said to the old man, “Sir, you haven’t even seen the room yet,” how could you like the room, we are almost there to reach your new room.

The old man replied, “That has nothing to do with it”.

The Old man further said, “Happiness is something I choose in advance.  It doesn’t depend on the furniture or the décor, rather it depends on how I decide to see it.”

Old Man, “I already decided in my mind that I like my room.  I take this decision every morning when I wake up”.

I can choose, I can spend my day in bed enumerating all the difficulties that I have with the parts of my body that no longer work very well, or I can get up and give thanks to heaven for those parts that are still in working order.”

Every day is a gift, and as long as I can open my eyes, I will focus on a new day, and all the happy memories that I have to build up during my life.”

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw in later life what you have deposited along the way earlier.”

So my advice to you is to deposit all the happiness you can in your bank account of memories.

Thank you for your part in filling my account with happy memories, which I am still continuing to fill…

Conclusion

A lesson to learn from this story.

Whatever the situation we are in today, we must nourish happy memories daily.  we must always try to keep ourselves happy.

A small pursuit of happiness always creates a better life and years later we can cherish our old memories happily.
